This video isn't attacking Corpse by the way, I watch his content regularly. Love his stuff. I'm also not angry (i know it comes across that way) , I'm just passionate about the subject of censoring content. He doesn't deserve ppl attacking him over reading someones story. It's his channel and he can do whatever he wants with it, but I do believe it sets a dangerous precedent if anytime someone is hurt or feels offended, even when you've done nothing wrong results in you removing your video. I'd also like to clarify that if someone has done really screwed up stuff in their past or present, apologizing for past beliefs isn't pandering if you've changed or grown from that experience. Pandering, in the context of this video, is about apologizing for NOT doing something wrong. And that's when I take issue is when apologies are made to pander to the small minority of people who don't live in the real world , but rather an online outcry of being offended by everything, even if there isn't anything wrong with it. Also my discord is back up, must type !verify in the channel to access everything.

@amelia lacey #1. I don't expect people to completely cease worrying about their daily lives. However, whether or not someone uses the n-word, or the f-word, or re$ard, really isn't going to affect much for most people beyond angering or irritating them. I think that's something we can sacrifice worrying about without much being lost. #2. I think it's important that society know there's nothing inherently wrong with strait white males telling other people what to or what to not feel offended by...because sometimes there will be strait white males who understand other groups better than some members of those other groups understand their own group. To teach society otherwise will be teaching them an inaccurate way of thinking about reality. I, as a white guy, should be able to understand black culture better than many black people do if I try hard enough. Now, it's also important, in my opinion, to be extra careful when doing this, when talking about cultures that are not one's own and such. Therefore, I much prefer teaching society to be tactful rather than unquestioningly obeying these vague rules society is given. If we just teach society to be tactful, and to pay attention to context, and teach a disdain for a lack of tact, that seems like it would make society more intelligent and polite and better in every way to me. Having these vague rules like, "non-gays should never say the f-word" I worry would just dumb down society.

@MrShittles I just don’t think that’s realistic. People have lives you know? Of course global warming is important, all those other issues are too, but that doesn’t make those seemingly smaller issues any less important. It just invalidates people’s feelings about their day to day lives if they’re upset about something and you say “well the world is ending, worry about that instead.” People have room in their hearts and minds to be like worried about both their lives, and the world around us, at the same time. And you can have differing opinions- that’s okay. I’ve been a fan of repzion for years. I just really don’t think it’s his place as a straight white guy to tell minorities what and what not to get offended by.

Being realistic and being offensive are two different things, im a member of the LGBT+ community, specifically the "B" and I also love this horror story youtuber, and loved the video hes referring to. Being accurate to a situation is different than trying to be deliberately offensive. Like with 12 yrs a slave or Django, the slurs and racism aren't meant to be offensive but historically accurate.

I know that there are a lot of bad Christian experiences out there, but I want to say this... True christian people that will be able to go to Heaven (whether you believe or not), aren't the type of people to spread hate and attack others in ANY way. People who hide behind the Christian religion, no matter how involved in the church they are or how much they pray, will inevitably go to Hell because they are spreading hate instead of love and are not asking for forgiveness and trying to become better people. Prejudice and hatred of any kind is not allowed in Heaven. If you have met these types of Christians or were raised with these kinds of Christians, I whole heartedly apologize because that is absolutely disgusting. I hold those around me accountable and so should everyone else, hatred is not allowed.

I disagree with what he did but the timing kind of makes sense. I’m sure getting super popular super quickly makes you really think about everything you’ve done and probably makes you nervous about screwing up and hurting people or having your platform taken away for small stuff. Again, I agree with you and I hope this doesn’t come off as me defending his actions

People need to see the whole story. Trans people need to be heard without a filter. If we can’t even quote a word like that’s too much.

In Corpse's defense, he's probably trying to protect himself. It's irrational for someone to get upset with him, and the small group of people who are could come after him or dox him in retaliation if he doesn't do what they want. Because, you know, they're fucking crazy. Plus, you can tell Corpse values his privacy--he hasn't even done a face reveal--and I'm sure he wouldn't want it compromised by a bunch of screeching internet harpies. Just my two cents.

I’m not saying you’re wrong but I can sort of understand the other side too. If someone was sharing the experience of a black person, would you feel okay saying they were called the hard N-word and say that word? I don’t think I could. It’s not giving it to racism, it would show respect and your own values. Also why did you quote what people said to you and call it the f-word? Is that different?

The cancel culture crowd and SJW's keep reaching new lows that I thought most (even slightly) intelligent people were incapable of reaching. They can't see the forest for the trees, or in other words, they can't see the bigger picture here. Most of the people involved in the "social justice" community claim that they are progressive, loving, peaceful, tolerant, and compassionate. If you have ever seen these people ruthlessly attack others on social media or even in person, you would know immediately, they are exactly the opposite of what they claim. The words they spew are vitriolic, hate filled, "slogans" that seem to have been indoctrinated into them, which they then repeat endlessly like robotic parrots. As someone who has been attacked by a content creator, who sent their well over 400,000 subscribers after me, I can tell you the pressure to cave to them is immense. Imagine waking up to hundreds or even thousands of emails containing messages such as: "How could you be so insensitive?! You are a Nazi/fascist because you think this way! Please, do the world a favor and drink some bleach." After reading 50-100 messages telling you what a piece of crap you are, you feel like crawling into a hole and dying. It is because of this that we cannot give into the pressure to be silent just because we hold different opinions, and we certainly cannot start deleting words out of our vocabulary just because it "offends" someone! These words hold meaning and in this case words were used to convey just how horrible this person had been treated by another person who claims to be of the Christian faith. I am a Christian. I REFUSE to use those words in order to cause another human being pain, and I cannot express how much it angers me to hear of a self proclaimed Christian calling a transgender person a homophobic slur. It is completely contradictory to the teachings of the Bible and of Jesus Christ. In these types of stories, no one wins. Cancel culture has struck once again and revealed the hypocritical standards that they live by. If they truly cared about LGBTQ+ community, they would realize that the whole purpose of the story was to bring to light the discrimination in which this transgender person, and all transgender people, face. They should take issue with the horrible old lady who slings homophobic slurs about recklessly. Instead they got caught up with the fact that this content creator spoke the word aloud. Under tremendous pressure he caved and took the video down, which not only silenced him. It silenced the victim of the story. Cancel culture got what they wanted. The word they threw a fit over is forever censored, but so is the discussion about transphobia. Our actions create a ripple effect that has the potential to impact people's lives that we may never know. This story proves that you absolutely cannot combat hatred and intolerance with more hatred. The content creator lost his video, any future revenue on that video, and he was ruthlessly harassed. More importantly, a victim of hatred and discrimination was silenced. Everyone has the right to free speech. Use it wisely. The next time you are angrily typing on your keyboard, pause for a moment. Think of what may potentially happen when you press send. Remember that the person on the other side of the screen is a human being, just like you are. We must come together to stop the hatred and needless fighting. It will destroy us all if we don't.

Wow, I just looked up this channel after remembering it from back when you were making good old atheism content. I don't even know much about this situation, but I guess I'll give my two cents here because I only half agree with you. When talking about slurs like the n-word, dyke, cunt, faggot, or any other slur there are two *main* reasons for saying those words are bad from a utilitarian perspective: 1. It normalizes harmful language surrounding minority groups. An example would be a person constantly saying the word "faggot" as an insult when, for example, playing video games with their friends. Now, next to no one will become homophobic simply by hearing that term over and over, but people with existing homophobic tendencies might feel empowered by hearing other people use it and it helps to create an environment in which such tendencies develop a lot easier. This side of the argument doesn't apply here at all, obviously. Apparently, it was clear that the word "dyke" was used as a quote here, no transphobe will feel empowered by hearing it. Especially because it was used in a negative context. 2. It causes psychological pain to a person hearing the slur. Having talked a lot to people who are minorities and have experience with discrimination, I have heard very often that hearing someone say a slur around them, especially if they like the person saying the slur, can ruin their day. This is independent of the context in which the slur is used for some people because it is an actual trigger relating to what sometimes is serious trauma. This kind of applies here, though I'm not an English native and don't know how hurtful the term is seen as to most people. Now, what would be the solution to something like this? Surely, we have to be able to talk about situations like this, and sometimes saying a slur out loud can be helpful to get across how bad the lived experience of some minority groups actually are. An easy way to avoid a situation like this is to quickly put a content warning at the beginning of the video. Just edit in 5 seconds of a black screen with the text "Content warning: Transphobia, transphobic language" at the start of the video. Every person watching the video, including the people who are possibly hurt by hearing something like this, have a chance to turn off the video at that point and can therefore avoid language they deem harmful to themselves. Should the video have been deleted? I don't think so. There probably is only a very small portion of viewers actually getting hurt by this and telling stories about discrimination to a large audience is good to sensitize them to such situations and why they're bad. Could the situation have been handled better? Yes, it could've. Content warning and such things are used for this exact reason. We should do the same when talking about sexual abuse, racism, suicide, or any other content which is highly likely to cause pain to people. Just to make this clear, fuck the people who completely overreacted to the video in question. Being an asshole to someone obviously isn't a productive way to talk about issues like this or to advocate for, in this case, trans rights. TL;DR: It's a little bit bad and could have been handled better, but it's no reason to freak out or delete a video.
TheParagon 3 kuukautta sitten
This just doesn’t sound right. A lot of people nowadays are more cautious on what they say, it’s not right to attack them based on what they post/unpost from their channel. If they want to adhere to a group of individuals and not offend anybody then that’s their business. If I’m wrong just imagine the d word replaced with the n word. Sure in context it might be acceptable, but saying it regardless is still inappropriate.

Okay, I'm a transgender Christian and religious people can sometimes be the worst. People should never turn on each other like that, or insult people for their experiences and resulting choices for what they have been through. A lot of people love to discriminate and point fingers, but truth is that we shouldn't judge. Being gay, bi, trans, whatever isn't bad. Being non-religious is not bad. People in the church need to grow up and stop being assholes.

I agree with you. There are groups of people that are WAY too sensitive about everything. No one can even joke anymore. If someone doesn't have a political view, that's not acceptable? Since when? I think twitter & some other apps have become very toxic. It's a bunch of people that are unhappy with their lives so they like to attack and spread the misery. Do they have nothing better to do? I had no idea the "D"word was a derogatory term either. Luckily I never use it, but it's a mistake anyone can make. That person could/should be educated (politely) but not "cancelled" for it.

There's a reason we don't say these words. I'm a transgender man and I know both you and that man mean well, but let our community decide what we want. Because by speaking for us, you're starting to silence us in a similar way to him. I'm not angry. But some people are extremely triggered by those words. At this rate we will have to go through every letter written before 1950 to remove the N word when referring to black people in case the historians of today become offended when doing research. We will have to do the same for newspapers, fiction and everything else. The same goes for every other word people now find offensive. The works of Shakespeare, one of the greatest ever play-writes will have to be edited because of peoples feelings. This has already gone too far but we must draw a line now, if not we will see everything upon which our culture is based being burned to the ground.

There’s a line used to defend literature that I’ve heard used before that is apt here: “Depiction is not promotion”. This would be like saying no one can write a novel set in Nazi Germany without promoting Nazism, which is obviously not true. Trans people are currently transitioning from openly ridiculed out group to protected minority, so there’s bound to be some over correcting but it is dangerous to give in to people doing this over correcting, as it is essentially censorship.

The story “To Kill a Mockingbird” almost got removed from The List of Indispensable Books in my highschool because it said the N word. I’m glad it wasn’t because its actually a really good book, but sometimes to tell a good story you need to add some sort of reality to it, and the reality is bad people exist and will always exist, and instead of completely ignoring those people and running from them we should instead take them and learn from their mistakes rather than pretending they don’t exist.

During the trial scene, "nigger" is said multiple times, and in one instance, a classmate read out the actual text without censoring herself by saying "the boy" or "young man". Because my class had students of all races, including African American students, my teacher sent her to the office for discipline.

I didn't know about this happening. But From what i got out of it. Dude was just quoting something someone said in a "story/something he was reading. How is that the same as him calling someone that. This is dumb and he shouldn't have caught any shit for this. this is where this cancel bullshit gets too out of hand. Soooo many people are getting **"Canceled"** for bullshit & now everyone has to feel like they're walking on egg shells when even quoting something for context. This is dumb, good day. (& No Rep is not the dumb one nor is Corpse. The ppl "canceling" Corpse are dumb) EDIT: I dont even wanna say its "all christians" that do this. Cause i myself . . well if i had to "title" it. then yes im a Christian Black Man (don't necessarily believe every single thing about it tho but thats a whole nother topic/convo in itself lol) & i feel no different whether someone is gay or trans. If thats what they wanna do and what makes someone happy? then by all means go for it. My whole thing is , Live how you wanna live cause you are the only one at the end of the day who can truly make you happy, fuck what others think. My Uncle is gay, and it was no secret at least for my whole life it wasnt and my family nor i have EVER treated him or his partner any differently EVER EVER EVER, & TBH i couldn't never even picture/imagine myself doing that. I just wish people could do what they loved to do/be. as long as it wasnt hurting others (or themselves) then whats the fucking problem. idk this turned more into a rant more than anything but whatever dude. I hope if you made it this far in the comment, i hope you have an amazing day/night =) & Fxck what anyone thinks. Live your life how you wanna. Just dont hurt any one =)

Jesus christ. I know he said he's not attacking CorpseHusband but calling someone "spineless" is kind of a direct attack, the tone of this clashes with the message.

i totally agree with you for as long as i can remember its always been that if you are not black but have black friends you cannot call them the "N" word but they are free to use it as a term of endearment like yes there are some who will take it too far but then if you are reading it in a text or tweet or book its not you ujsing the word it is the author of whatever you are reading and so because its in a piece of writting we have to censor it sometimes the only way to get the emotion of what is being said across is reading in the entirety i did not hear the original reading in fact corpsehusband sounds like mamamaxx so i thought it was him and was ready to throw hands because he doesnt do stuff like that maliciously hell he blows the roof off of predator websites. i totally agree that we should not have to take a video down that we put so much work into sometimes people not only put time in but money too and they earn that money back by posting said video and by having to take it down because karen who is transphobic herself gets offended by one word is just ridiculous

That video corpse deleted made me feel so empowered and seen, I agree that he shouldn't have deleted the video and I do think it gave power to that woman. Thank you for using your platform for something like this

Bro, it’s always someone who isn’t even apart of the community (or any community that fits in this same narrative), that gets upset on their behalf. You don’t get to tell LGBTQ+ people, what they “need” to be upset about, and try to ruin someone’s life. I feel bad for Corpse and Ik he deals with severe anxiety, but honestly he should just turn the comments off. Not everyone deserves a voice on the piece of your platform, if it’s not constructive criticism/productive conversations. F- the people who were bullying this man and trying to cancel him over this.

I’m a lesbian and that’s a word typically used towards us (not to take away from the trans woman’s experience) and I see no problem using it in the context of a quote. It’s likely “allies” getting offended for us unfortunately.

You're correct, no one can live their life pandering to others like that. If he's that good a story teller then his audience will stay and not leave due to a few people complaining. Let me add that the people using Twitter or FIpost are only a tiny fraction of people that exist. It sometimes seems like the whole world exists within the confines of the mobile device in our hands... but it just isn't true. Do you know how many people have never read a tweet by anyone (except perhaps those by the American president that is used for a news story)? It's true, twitter users account for approximately 22% of the population , but only 10% of those create 80% of the tweets, so I think that works out to about 2% of the people in America. (I am going based on someone who does maths way better than I do.) But here's a link to pew research and their stuff on twitter. As for FIpost making everything so "family friendly", I'm totally against it. Only 4% of their English content is made for kids. Why are they making these decisions based on such a small amount of content? If you disagree with their decisions let them know people!

I completely understand that it's a disparaging term to use for someone who is a part of the LGBTQ community but if it wasn't directed at you then there's no reason to be upset If it wasn't meant to maliciously attack you personally. Corpse has done absolutely nothing wrong and I love his content but for that small majority of people who get offended because of the way that it makes them *F E E L* it's very discouraging. It's a universal truth that not everybody in the whole world is going to care about how you feel And as a black American I get looks and get discriminated against every so often but I don't let it get to me or I'm just built different idk. I won't pretend to know that struggles that you're going through if you are in the community but at what point can we get out of our feelings? I know some people who are a part of that community Who have had an incredibly rough time either coming out or being who they're truly meant to be without facing some sort of transgression just be who you are and be the best person that you can be and try not to let feelings dictate your actions. anyway thanks for coming to my TED talk I'm going to fuck off now ✌️

Not gonna lie, this was just like when I quoted Louis CK in a rhetoric class when I was trying to prove a point about some thing and most of the people got the joke and understood what I was saying but there was a small group of people who were offended and would not understand the point I was making they just kept going on saying “why did he have to use that word? I don’t think he needed to use that word” he used The F word meaning gay people- They just got stuck on the word and would not hear the full point that I was making and it was frustrating because the point was that you can call something anything and if it’s bad for us will still want it because there’s a cognitive dissonance where we want what we want regardless of what we have to do or say to get it
K M 4 kuukautta sitten
Also, when you silence the word, you silence the story and delegitimize their pain and experience- you were offended by that word? How do you think the person who was called that felt? Offended? Maybe wanting to show and tell their story to prove that this bigotry happens still and needs to stop.
